On the 6th of August 2011, someone exploited the "Tell a Friend" feature of this website to send a spam message to numerous email addresses.

Incident Overview:

The addresses targeted do not belong to members of this website, nor was the sender a registered user of this site.

The IP address of the offender as recorded in our logs is: 41.202.105.150, and the reply-to email address used in the messages is: "y2dasan@yahoo.se"

The message they sent appears to be a request for assistance with business investments, and is quite possibly some variant of a Nigerian money scam.

Action Taken:

Our logs show that the offender only exploited the "Tell a Friend" feature, and did not tamper with any of the content of the site or attempt to gain access to information about users of this site.

As of 13:10 today (6th August), we have disabled the "Tell a Friend" feature to prevent further exploitation.

We will report the offender's IP address and email address to our hosting provider and their ISP.

Thank you

FOTL apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused, and appreciates your understanding. We hate spam and condemn the low-life individual who sought to exploit a not-for-profit community such as ours for their own selfish gain.
