Thanks to some yachts currently passing through the Louisiades, we've recently received a number of requests for specific trade items, including screws and glue for boat construction, sailcloth, and clothing.

Please take the time to check what the locals need - they'll appreciate it more than you can imagine, and you'll often find it's a great way to get rid of many things that you might otherwise just discard.

Remember that these folks have little if any access to shops, so they are quite happy to trade for second-hand items if they are still fit for their requirements.

Wouldn't you rather emjoy a couple of juicy ripe red paw paws and a delicious lobster instead of that old polytarp that's taking up space in the lazarette???
